Welcome to PFI-Rebate.org
The PFI Rebate campaign has been set up by Jesse Norman MP with the support of a large cross-party group of MPs. Its goal is to encourage the banks, construction firms and service companies who have benefited from the Private Finance Initiative over the past decade to give back a small portion of their profits to the taxpayer.
These companies will be paid some £250 billion by the taxpayer over the next three decades. A reduction of less than 0.5% in these costs would rebate hundreds of millions of pounds, much of which would go back to schools and hospitals to be spent on books, teaching, medicines and surgery. Half of one per cent isn't much.
As you will see from this site, many of these contracts have proven to be shockingly expensive and bad value for money. At a time of huge financial strain it is only right that these PFI companies should contribute to our national recovery. No-one should be exempt.
Please take a moment to browse the site. If you agree with its aims, please take a moment to write to one of the companies involved to let them know how you feel.
Thanks,
Jesse
